About the Institute:

The predecessor of the current Institute was the Department of Botany established in 1929 as part of the Hungarian Royal Science University. Between 1952 and 1958 the Department moved to Gödöllő and became part of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Agriculture University of Gödöllő. Today it is part of the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences of the Szent Istvan University.
The Institute offers a wide range of trainings at gradual and post gradual levels. Trainings include botany, plant ecology, plant physiology, measurements of environmental pollution, global environmental problems, nature and environment protection (see education). The Institute is also responsible for PhD programs in botany and functional plant ecophysiology. The Institute is tightly linked to the MTA-SZIE Plant Ecology Research Group , to the Biology PhD School of the University and to the national importance Herbarium. The Institute also provides consulting in environmental, nature conservation and applied ecological questions.
